47… it’s been a good day
Adult birthdays are weird. At least, a little as I write from my favorite, most comfortable chair, half a pain pill down, with a heating pad, and the boss blanket wrapped around my legs (but obviously not my feet). One moment we are turning thirty in rhinestone stilettos and a Calvin Klein little black dress and the next, we are somewhere in the murky area between mid- and late 40s.
Despite all else that has happened this week, today was a nice day. I heard from many friends and family, I spent the day with Katie, Shawn, and Joey. Juliet and the bebe came for a visit, and brought a gorgeous sparkly chocolate cake (and so delish). We had my favorite Chinese for dinner. And, as I make my next journey around the sun, I plan to take it all in — and relish that elusive good night’s rest. How our priority shifts over time.
